April 12, 2012 – Sooo Pinoy Food Tour Day 2 in Cebu – Previous Post : Cafe Marco.
After our Adobo Cebuano feast at Cafe Marco, we headed to Imperial Palace Waterpark Resort and Spa for another food trip. It took us more or less 45 minutes to reach the resort but we still manage to arrive early for our scheduled visit.
Sisig Embutido
Imperial Palace is a five star deluxe hotel equipped with one of kind water park facilities. The Imperial Palace Cebu waterpark features 5 different themed pools such as Captain Hook’s Pool that includes a pirate ship and slides, the Beach pool and Toddler Pool, Amazon River Pool that is actually a flowing river pool that one can best enjoy in an inflatable tube; they also have an artificial tide pool called the Wave Rider.
Guadalupe Mango Sheet and Octupus tentacles
The resort is good for both leisure and business travelers and is fully booked most of the time for international conventions specially those incentive trips from Korea. Cafe Amiga offers a casual dining specializing in classical and contemporary Filipino cuisine. Café Amiga offers regional & local cuisine which is light and easy, using the freshest of local & imported produce along with many varieties of local specialties from the country and the region.
Café Amiga at Imperial Palace Cebu
During our visit, the Chef prepared Sisig Embutido, Guava Foam & Guadalupe Mango Sheet and Octupus tentacles, avocado & coconut with kesong puti spheres.
It was a deconstructed Sisig and I find it amazing that the taste of the Embutido has the same exact character of Sisig that we always love. The embutido is filled with Cebu Chorizo & Boiled Quail Egg, with guava sauce & mango jelly. Served with Ensaladang Octopus Tentacles & Avocado with mild -spiced Coconut-Kesong Puti dressing.
